Jewelry Care
Daily Care Tips
-Do not wear jewelry when bathing or showering.
-Remove jewelry before going to bed.
-Keep jewelry away from chemicals: Household cleaning products, perfumes, hairspray and even body lotions and sunscreen can cause damage to your jewelry.
-Remove Jewelry before physical activity: Activities such as exercise, cooking and gardening put your jewelry at risk for grinding, collision and heat. It's best to remove your jewelry items while participating in these activities.
-Store Jewelry in a safe place: We recommend storing your jewelry in a secure safe or a box with soft lined fabric. The metals and gemstones can be scratched if they are stored loose in a drawer with other objects.
Cleaning Tips
-If you have valuable or antique jewelry, it's always a good idea to have these professionally cleaned by a jeweler. We can inspect the jewelry for any damage or wear and tear, and make any necessary adjustments or repairs.
-Take extra care with gemstones: If your jewelry contains amber, pearls, turquoise, ivory, carnelian or malachite, wipe with a wet rag and dry immediately with a soft non-abrasive cloth. Do not use the dish soap + toothbrush method. Be sure to research the specific care needs of the gemstones you have in your collection.
-If you clean your jewelry at home, we recommend using warm water, mild dish soap and a soft bristled toothbrush. If you are near a sink, be sure to plug the drain before you begin.
Ultrasonic Cleaning Machines:
We do not recommend using at-home ultrasonic machines. Improper use can lead to loose stones and other damages. Please bring your items to a jeweler for professional ultrasonic cleaning.
